SEJARAH
The Soil Science Study Program is under
Faculty of Agriculture Lambung Mangkurat University which was
established on the basis of Government Regulation No. 41/1960 on October
29, 1960 based in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan Province. The Faculty
was officially opened on October 3, 1961 by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tojib
Hadiwidjaja as Minister of higher education and science.
The Soil Science Study Program under
auspices of Soil Department is one of the 7 (seven) study program in 4
(four) department within the Faculty of Agriculture, University of
Lambung Mangkurat. Soil Science Study Program Faculty of Agriculture
University of Lambung Mangkurat began operational on 11 July 1996, in
accordance with the decree of the Directorate General of Higher
Education, Ministry of National Education No.: 228/DIKTI/Kep/96. With
the enactment of the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher
Education No. 163/DIKTI/KEP/2007 dated November 29, 2007 concerning the
Arrangement and Codification of Study Program at the College, then Study
Program of Agronomy, Science of Pest and Plant Diseases, and soil
science were merged into Agroecotechnology Study Pogram. Soil Science
Study Program ULM with the help of the Indonesian Soil Science
Association (HITI) proposed reopening of Soil Science Study Program, and
on April 16, 2013 the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic
of Indonesia through Decree Number 117/E/O/2013 concerning the
Re-Establishment of Permits for operating Soil Science Study Program
(S1) on the University of Lambung Mangkurat in Banjarmasin issued a
permit for operating Soil Science Study Program (S1) ULM. Since 2013,
Soil Science Study Program ULM has accepted new students.
LAB
The laboratories at PS soil science faculty of Agriculture
University of gastric Mangkurat who first became known as a laboratory
Soil laboratory is directed to facilitate the implementation of the
learning process in soil science studies Program. This lab is set to
serve the students and professors who are in the environment University
of gastric Mangkurat mainly on Soil Science courses in the educational
process and teaching as well as research specifically related to the
field of science land for farming. Along with the development of the
current laboratory, Land has also committed a service to the community
as additional tasks run.
Vision
- Become a laboratory able to support and provide optimal service to
the world pendidikandan teaching as well as research and especially in
the field of soil science.
- Be a reference laboratory for examination or analysis of the soil
samples, tissues and fertilizer (organic and inorganic) in Borneo
region.
Mission
- Improve the quality of knowledge and skills analysis-analysis of the
work in the laboratory of soil by requiring them in training, courses
and internships on the issues related to the work and management of the
laboratory .
- Create standard operating procedures as a reference in management and laboratory pengoperasionalan.
- Provide facilities for practical activity courses offered at the
Faculty of Agriculture University of gastric Mangkurat in particular and
generally are mainly related to the science of land for farming.
- Provides a facility to support research activities for students and
lecturers especially being in the environment the University of gastric
Mangkurat object related to the field of study of the science of soil
for agriculture.
- Provides services related to the analysis of soil, plant tissue and
fertilizers for the general users both inside and outside the
environment University of gastric Mangkurat.
- Seeking sustainability of operational activities throughout the lab
independently by managing all laboratory operations from funds earned on
sales analysis services samples of soil, fertilizer and plant tissue.
- Maintaining the quality and results of analysis issued by
laboratories routinely follow the assay activity Cross (cross checking)
dikordinasikan by Balai Besar Research Ground of Bogor.

Vision
Become an excellent and competitive study program in Indonesia in the development of soil science and technology in wetlands.
Mission
- Manage activities program of tri-darma higher education with effectively, efficiently, transparently, and accountably.
- To implement innovative, excellent and
competitive academic education at the national level, in the sector of
soil science and technology in wetlands, by mainstreaming sustainable
biomass production.
- Developing science and technology of
soil on wetlands, through basic, applied, and policy research, to
improve the quality of wetlands to produce biomass on sustainably.
- To implement the community service
programs in the field of soil technology in wetlands to empower and
improve the quality of society and the environment.
Goals
- Realizing effective, efficient, transparent, and accountable governance of study program.
- Produce excellent and competitive
graduates who are able to master the science and technology of soil for
sustainable biomass production in wetlands, by mainstreaming
environmental ethics in behaving and acting.
- Produce science and technology of soil
for sustainable biomass production in wetlands, whether
theoretical-conceptual or methodology that can enrich the repertoire of
soil science and technology development in harmony with sustainable
development.
- Increasing active role in assisting the
government, community and stakeholders, especially in the natural
resources utilization and increasing sustainable biomass production in
wetlands through community service activities.
